Appointments and Typical Timeline

The process begins with a telephone intake, during which preliminary information is gathered, arrangements are made to collect parent and teacher questionnaires, and appointments are scheduled for:

  • Initial parent interview to discuss history and current functioning
  • Two testing sessions (usually totaling 8 to 9 hours, with a 3rd shorter session sometimes required)
  • A parent feedback meeting to review findings and discuss recommendations

Testing usually begins at 10:00 a.m., but starting times are flexible. Weekend sessions are often available. Several breaks are provided during each session for the child to enjoy a snack and/or relaxing activity

All testing is conducted by Dr. Parnell.

The parent feedback meeting is usually scheduled within two weeks following the completion of testing. A follow-up appointment at a later time may be arranged for further discussion or to explain the results to the child.

A written report follows the feedback session, generally within 3 weeks.
