The process begins with a telephone intake, during which preliminary information is gathered, arrangements are made to collect parent and teacher questionnaires, and appointments are scheduled for:
- parent/child interviews
- testing sessions (usually 8 to 9 hours),
- a parent feedback meeting
During the first appointment initial interviews are conducted and the child begins testing. Testing is usually concluded during a second testing session; however, third sessions are sometimes needed.
After tests are scored and analyzed, a parent feedback meeting is held to review findings and discuss recommendations. This is usually scheduled within two weeks following the completion of testing. A follow-up appointment at a later time may be arranged for further discussion or to explain the results to the child.
A written report follows the feedback session, generally within 3 weeks.
